CHOKE

A drum machine built around what you take away.

Most drum machines give you two choices per step: note, or no note. CHOKE adds a third. You draw a sleeve across the grid and whatever sits under it goes quiet, or goes dull, or goes thin. Drag its edges to change how long it holds. There's a row that does it to the entire kit at once, so you can gate the whole beat without touching a single note. Use over a dozen of our digital preset drum kits, or add your own samples and chop them up however you wish.

Every good groove knows when to shut up.

What's inside:

• Mute sleeves, drawn straight onto the grid
  • Silence it, low pass it, or high pass it
  • Give mutes a custom shape that affects the sound
  • Attack, release, depth and curve on every sleeve
  • Drag the edges to set how long one holds
• An ALL row that mutes every drum at once
• 8 drum types, or drop in your own samples
  • Your own samples can still be powerfully edited inside of CHOKE.
• Up to 16 lanes, added and removed as you need them
• Per-lane cycles, so a 5 step hat can run against a 16 step kick
• 1/8, 1/16, 1/32 and triplets, plus DOUBLE for longer patterns
• Swing and humanize, with a second humanize just for the sleeves
• Per lane: tune, decay, tone, pan, EQ, envelope shape, and its own effects (HP, LP, drive, crush, transient, OTT)
• A master chain with HP, LP, OTT, glue, width and drive
• Delay and reverb
• Choke groups, so the open hat stops when the closed hat lands
• 96 patterns and 15 kits, plus save and load
• Drag the loop out as WAV or MIDI, or write one WAV per lane
